It’s about due time I announce my other blog’s existence: Little Mama’s Lowdown. I posted a couple pictures of my baby shower there too!

Anticipating L.A., Baja, and of course, the beach!

My best girlfriend is graduating from FIDM this Saturday, so tomorrow I fly out to give her a hug and pat on the butt, and then we share the drive home together with her lover.  There are too many things that I’m excited for… dressing up for the airport, buying shoes at the fashion district, meeting her new boyfriend, visiting my brother in Venice Beach, and the 12 hour drive back to Colorado when the 2 weeks are up.  But best of all, we’re driving down the Baja Peninsula for her “graduation trip”, and camping on the beach.  Finally, I get to have a stab at winning myself a tan this summer!!

Sea of Shoes & Agent Lover

With all the built up excitement & anticipation of buying tons of new shoes for cheap in L.A., I’ve been spending tons of time gawking at Jane’s designer heels, post-after-post[-after-post].  Actually, with this awkward time between South America and L.A. and being unable to start any new design jobs, I’ve been spending a completely ridiculous amount of time on the internet.  So along with Jane’s Sea of Shoes, there’s also Agent Lover’s witty little posts of cupcakes, parties, and ensembles of rockabilly outfits that make me want to shop even more.  It’s OK.  I’m in Pagosa and there’s nowhere to shop, so I spend my pennies at the Thrift store and usually it only takes about $4 to give me my shopping fix for the day.  Oh.  And then there’s PinUpGirlClothing.com who send me mouth-watering-coupons for 20% off and all of a sudden I’m checking my credit card balance twice a day, just to make sure that money doesn’t magically appear out of nowhere…

The Selby

#5 )   Matthew Buchanan; one of my favorite random blogs.  That’s all.

#4 )   Cut Out + Keep; a huge collection of step-by-step craft tutorials… ’cause you can post your own and stuff and stuff!!  You can make things for your things and then more things for your things!  & I love things.

#3 )  Triangle Triangle; one of my favorite collaborative (and by collaborative, I mean anyone can submit) photography collective.  The best ‘photo log’ on the web.  Yep.  True.

#2 )  Pandora Radio; everyone probably knows about this site, but whatever.  [For those of you who do not] it’s a fancy-shmancy site where you pick the song “Thriller” or simply the artist “Michael Jackson” and then Pandora uses its little robot brain to find all the songs/musicians slightly related and creates a radio station for you.   But its database is huge, with even the tiniest bands, and sometimes you find new bands that you never knew about!  Now I rarely use iTunes for anything more than loading my iPod.  Some people complain because Pandora plays the same songs over and over, but I’ve never had that problem:  you just need to use it long enough to put shit-tons of stations in your ‘Quick-Mix’ and rate the songs you really hate and the ones you really love.

#1 )  The Selby; I’m completely obsessed with this photographer because he has my dream-job, but he’s already that guy, so I have to find new dreams.   I’m a creepy nerd because I love looking at people’s spaces, and could look at photographs of houses (kitchens, offices, bathrooms, studios, closets….) all freakin day [and night].  Shoe shelving.  Homemade lamps.  Drawer organizers.  Jewelry hooks.  Dish-drain-racks.  White rooms with nothing in them.  Piles of junk that needs to be organized.  Aluminum cans full of paint brushes.  Vintage kitchen tables.  Painted mail boxes.  Heaven.  And that’s why both the images in this post are Selby’s.
